Our Story
GOODA started in our kitchen - nothing fancier than that.
Ana, always the one experimenting with recipes, baked a batch of thick, soft-baked chocolate chip cookies for her husband Josh and their daughter one night, just for fun. One bite in, Josh knew they had something. A dozen-plus markets later, people seem to agree and here we are.
The name has nothing to do with cookies at all. It comes from Josh's homemade smoked gouda mac and cheese, a family favorite their daughter loved so much she started calling things "gouda morning" and "that's gouda" — her own pun on "good." The joke stuck, the spelling changed, and GOODA was born.
We're not out to be the best cookie company on the planet. What we care about is clean ingredients and mastering the classics rather than reinventing them. While we do still like a fancy and fun cookie, its not our staple.
Right now that means working out of our home kitchen and showing up at markets, one batch at a time. Down the road, we're dreaming bigger: a spot where people can grab a cookie and a cup of coffee and just be themselves for a while. We're already calling it a Coofe'.
